Special K.A.Y helps on an individual and community level. We are more than just a source of safety, as we provide tolietries and other resources to aid survivors.
Safety planning
Essential resources
Special Kay creates safety systems for emergency situations that are tailored to each individual's needs. The planning process involves designating 3-4 places to go when one leaves their home, safely storing important documents and other valuable assets.
We provide resources such as personal hygiene, canned goods, and spare clothing for those in need. We emphasize relieving as many burdens and obstacles as possible so that the individual can focus on healing and gaining independence.
Community Referrals
Transportation
At Special Kay, we work closely with the community to connect individuals with essential resources, including safe housing referrals, counseling services, and other forms of support. We aim to ensure that everyone has access to community services.
Not having a stable and reliable source of transportation can lead to survivors missing important appointments, court hearings, and job interviews. In order to alleviate this stressor, we provide ride-share services and help with transit passes.
